Yeah i think its quite common for asthma if bad or poorly controlled to be worse at night especially when your lying down. Thats why i think its good hospitals have those electric beds that go all the way up, could you imagine having to lie flat after an asthma attack

Hi Jessica,

Sorry to hear you have been having attacks in the night.

If you are having asthma attacks at night it suggests your asthma is not under control and you should see your GP to see whether you need to have your treatment changed or to have new medication added to what you are already on.

If the next time you have an asthma attack either during day or the night and isn't getting any better after taking your reliever inhaler (your blue inhaler) typically 10-15 puffs then yes you should call an ambulance.

Please take care, simi x

Hey,

Not too sure on this but I think that house-dust mites can be a trigger, and according to the AUK website, these can live in bedding and around the house. If you haven't hoovered recently or something there might be more that can trigger off your asthma. Maybe this is a possibility of the cause? More info on that here: http://www.asthma.org.uk/all_about_asthma/asthma_triggers_az/housedust_mites.htm l
Hopefully this helps.... :-)

Hey,
Does anyone else experiance asthma attacks in the middle of the night when your asleep for no apparent reasons?

I have never had this before untill about a month ago and i started waking up having full on bad asthma attacks. No idea why?!

But is this normal or should i go to hospital next time?

I only normally have asthma attacks during the day :P wierd!

Thanks Lovee Jessiee xx
