Hello Shauna. Raising money for Asthma UK is a great idea. I did it myself when I organised a 22 mile bike ride which I took part in and Raised £280. There are many ideas which you could do, for a whole school - I would say that you should something simple in which everyone can do easily such as non-school uniform days, sponsorship walks for the whole school, cake sales, talent competitions etc. You should first see if anyone in charge of the school is willing to help. :D Hope this helps A |

Tell your idea to family and friends first - Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. They will want to help you the most. (Grandparents are good because they always want to support you and are proud when you want to help others! !) Ask each of them to sponsor you and find 2 more people. Then those people should each contact 2 more and so on. This way you quickly build a support team to back your fund-raising. Good luck! |

Sponsored stuff is always an excellent plan at schools. As Chante says, sponsored sports days are good - if you want to give the not-so-sporty ones a chance to raise money too, you could try a sponsored spell, sponsored music performance (where people take it in turns to play, with the idea to keep the music going continuously for a certain number of hours), sponsored silence (teachers love this!) - or maybe you could do a car wash, or contact your local supermarket and see if they'll let you do bag packing. When you've got something organised, contact Asthma UK - supporters@asthma.org.uk - and they send you some posters and other useful stuff! |

I'm in the pupil council at school and I suggested raising money for Asthma UK. What sort of fun thing could a small high school do to raise money and awareness? Thanks! Shauna x |
