My very first asthma attack was one of the most frightning experiences I have ever been through. It was April 2009 and I was 15. Basically all my life I have had this croupy like cough and I had it this night in which I was staying at my dads house. Everything was fine until about 9:30pm when I had this massive coughing fit and couldn't breath properly. What made matters worse was my dad paniced and phoned nhs24 instead of phoning 999 for an ambulance, so they told me to go to the out of hours so that was a trip in my uncles work van which took 40 minutes. I got there and had to wait 10 minutes in the waiting room at roughly 11:30pm at night. I was really badly wheezing and I was eventually taken through into a room and seen by a nurse who put me on oxygen and phoned for a non-emergancy ambulance to transport me to hospital. I was in hospital for 5 days and when I was discharged was monitered closly. I still have a lot of asthma attacks, not all are serious enough to require hospital treatment but I have atleast one serious asthma attack each month and end up in A&E either by an ambulance or by conincidence I am in the hospital doing something else. I have been in resusitation twice and I'd say that's the most frightning thing to ever go through espically if you're in A&E and they transport you to resusitation past all the paitents who are staring at you. Anyways I just kinda babbled on but oh well lol |

i have only had 1 and it was really embarassing because i was doing joseph and the amazing technicolour dreamcoat with craig chalmers as joseph and then because its the last show they decide that they are going to spray out loads of smoke from the smoke machine anyways i had to slide off in a black out. Luckily it was not a major one and was able to go back on in the second half. Jess x |
