Hi rabbitsrock!

I have severe asthma too and am suffering at the minute. I was on pred for how ever long I needed and eventually I ran out after three days!!! Every time I have an attack or a coughing fit, I hyperventilate a lot. this week I have had 5 attacks and each time I've hyperventilated.
when you have an attack, you should always have your ventolin inhaler on you and if you can, take it. try and stop your self coughing by sitting up and taking nice deep breaths.
hope this helped you!!
