Thanks guys that really helped to cheer me up, I saw my doctor and he gave me a new inhaler, feeling much better now and my coach kept me in the team for the last match and actually seems to be really nice and supportive of the fact that i may need to come and sit out in practice and matches! gud luck to anyone else feeling down because of asthma, it will get better - i found out for myself!!! thank you guys,
a little advice goes a long way!!!
love evie

myt pe teachers used to rlly underestimate my asthma but then i had a bad attack and had 2 be ambulanced out of skool so now they take it a bit more seriously! im sure no one will thyink ur unfit if your into sports cos they no if ur on the team that u must be gds at hockey right! im on the running team (when im well) and everyone knows if im wheezing or hav to stop its my asthma not the fact that im rlly unfit!!

Hi Evie, sorry you are feeling so upset at the moment about not being able to play your sports.

I was never a keep person of sports but the best advice i would give to you is "dont give up". If you try and get your strength back to normal before playing again and follow the normal advice you have about taking your inhailers before playing and keep your reliver with you in case you need the odd puff you should be able to play as normal as every other player on the team.....

So cheer up and think good thoughts of playing again as lots of people with asthma including famous ppl can play active sports with no problems. I cant see them dropping you from the team because of this so please don't worry about it, if you feel you are strugling to keep up discuss things with your coach...

Keep smiling.

Luv Lisa xxx

Hi everyone! I have had asthma for four years and it's never really gotten very serious but the other day i was playing a hockey match hockey for my school and it was about minus a billion, i took my ventolin before going out, but about 3 mins into the match my coach pulled me of the pitch when i started to have a bad asthma attack he was really nice but i think he feels that i am a bit pathetic and my other coach thinks i have been smoking and that is why i had an attack, so wasn't so nice!- truthfully i have only smoked twice, hated it and never did it again! But this attack has really got to me, I know it's probably all in my head but i feel like everyone thinks i am unfit and shouldnt be in the team and am now scared that i will be dropped from the team. I feel really helpless and weak and now, a week later, i still get wheezy climbing the stairs!! has anyone got anything that might cheer me up? I hate not being able to play sport it makes me feel really upset!
love Evie
