The orphanage I am going to-There is a nurse tere and they have something like 3 inhalers. They Depend on money from other People. Something like three kids die a year in that orphanage becuz of asthma. It's horrible :-(

wow haven't they heard ov inhalerz?
i feel sorry 4 the kidz out there wiv athma - it muzt b really hard 4 them wivout medz :-( and ppl who understand wot their illness is really like
i wish we kuld help them + like give them sum inhalerz

I had a quick look on the web for you, and some research has been done out there. Its sounds like they do have asthma - but there's a lot of confusion about it, and it often gets mistaken for other illnesses. The kind of treatment we would take for granted isn't very widespread, with many people relying on traditional 'healers' to make them better, who give a nasty mixture of things for people to eat and drink in attempts to 'cure' the illness.

I am going to teach in An orphanage in Cambodia at the summer. Does anyone know if the levels of asthma are high there??
