I know pneumonia is under the umbrella of a chest infection, but pnuemonia is specifically the alveoli filling with liquid whereas a chest infection can be things like bronchitis too. I think they all need to be seen to as a relative emergency though and require treatment, which is normally antibiotics |

Is it me or is pneumonia like a really really serious infection that requires like iv anti-biotics and you staying in hozzie (please correct me if im wrong i've never had it, just what i heard) and i though it wasn't a long-term illness like asthma, i know people with asthma are more lilley to get it but i didn't think it was something you had. You should really be taking the inhalers your doctor has prescibed, so if its seretide he wants you to take theres a readon, and you shoudn't be switching them with out their permission/advice. Also i probably wouldn't look up things like death from seretide , some people may suffer side affects but im sure a lot of people on here have taken it - me included with absololutley No side effects (which is rare for me!). Also just think if seretide was very danerous the doctor wouldn't have prescribed it. Hope that makes you feel a little bit more reassured! |

I have been diagnosed by a doctor with asthma about 4-5 years ago, and I've had normal asthma attacks but my asthma is very random it acts up in cold weather and other allergies, so it confuses me as to whether its asthma or pneumonia (I've had pneumonia since i was a baby) but they sort of accompany each other, so when i come down with pneumonia i get asthma like symptoms too. And it’s all so strange to me. my first doctor prescribed Seretide for me but my dad advice me to go on to using Becotide instead (he believes the side effects are less) but i think my system prefers Seretide. I'm thinking of going back to Seretide because i've been sick for days now. but i searched online to see some death reports for using Seretide for pneumonia and since i have both Asthma and Pneumonia i'm caught up in between. please any suggestions or opinions to help me out. much love. Don't worry, asthma is not too bad once you get the hang of it. You might have to go to the hospital sometimes, but that can be fun if you look on the bright side! And who knows, maybe you're asthma is very good and you will never have to set foot in the hozzie! What type do you have? I have a very weird type that my doc doesn't have a name for, but at first he thought it was brittle asthma type 2. Well, wnyways, I hope you're doing well :D!! |
