It’s back to school time! Does school affect your asthma? Do you often have to take time off?
I had an asthma attack in the middle of my first year 9 NCT exam, so i obviously had to leave the hall. Fair enough they wouldn't let me back in to that exam, but they wouldn't let me do the next exam, which was after break time, and they then said you may as well go home, even though i felt better!

Yes, sometimes I do have to take time off of school. One time I missed a whole week and missed the last day before christmas.

Does playing sport affect your asthma?
I get asthma occasanaly, not too much in sport. When I had my first asthma attack I was at a friends house on their trampoline I didn't know what was happening to me, I went inside got some water then went to the hospital. I also have hayfever which makes it worse I guess.

I don't really like going out for P.E but I like the games we play but my asthma always seems to get in the way. My friends think I sit on the sat to catch my breathe so i can get out of games and all that but I don't really. They just don't understand.

i have ashma and when I run laps round the feild i get sooo out of breath but theres where my inhailer comes in ! I take my inhailer 1 time before i run and 1 during or after i run! which helps me alot!

yes my asthma does get worse, especly when i have to do crosscountry and you have to run twice around my school wich is very big. Also you have no choice you have to do the crosscountry.

Sport affects my asthma quite badly but I enjoy most sports and I am trying to get into the netball team this year. I think my asthma is getting worse as I get older, unlike most people my triggers are not animals and smoking but colds and sport and when I cry - do many people have asthma triggers like me?

Yes sport always affects my asthma, which is a pain because I love sport. At school it used to be a pain because in PE I felt really unfit all the time. My teacher was really nice though, she has asthma and so knows exactly what to do and always understands. My asthma has been better during sport recently.
