Kick Asthma holidays are week-long residential adventure breaks for children and young people with asthma.
The holidays are crammed full of activities from raft building and orienteering to kayaking and climbing.
All
activities are supervised by volunteers and nurses who are trained to
help you out if you start to feel a little bit breathless or get asthma
symptoms. In fact many of the volunteers have asthma themselves so they
know exactly what it's like to live with asthma everyday.
What will I get to do on Kick Asthma holiday?
- Take part in activities that you never normally get to do - abseiling, kayaking, disco dancing!
- Get away from your parents for a week
- Meet other young people who have asthma
- Learn a bit more about what makes your asthma worse and what to do when it happens
- Have a fantastic fun week.
Each
holiday is split into different groups - one for 7-11 year olds and one
for 12-16 year olds so you'll be with kids your own age for most of the
holiday.
Kick Asthma holidays used to be PEAK Holidays, but they
are still the same action packed adventure breaks - just with a new
name!
Take a look at what past Kick Asthma adventurers have had to say about why you should go:
'Because
it's relaxed, it's fun. You make really good friends. You are accepted.
No matter how bad your asthma is you are never left out and are always
made to feel included.'
'Get to mix with a lot of new people and try new things out.'
'Exciting! Make great friends who understand what it's like to have asthma too.'
'Fun, feel more confident and believe you can do stuff you have never done before.'
